Biking with Daddy

Just had to post this really cute picture of Maddie with Jake. She is really attached to Jake- mimics him all the time (note the glasses and cap- like daddy) and we just got a bike seat (front of bike) so she can go biking with him. She absolutely loves it!

The Girls' Room

My New Haircut

My new haircut- I still like it even though it makes my face look alittle fat.......or that could be the pregnancy doing that ;) I like that it's really easy and out of my way ;)

Giving in to the pink

It's so funny- with Maddie I was like "we have to keep everything (crib collection, etc....) neutral in case the next one is a boy." Now that we're going to have 2 girls I have given into the pink. I never really liked the color pink growing up. I've always been kinda a tomboy and my favorite color is blue. Maybe it's the hormones, but now everything has to be pink. I got a new bedding collection (so excited to find a matching set for toddler bed and crib) & I absolutely love it! I think it looks so cute, and is something Maddie can grow older with. Until the next pregnancy of course-lol!

Acupuncture

So I tried acupuncture for induction of labor today. The Doctor (yes, he's a real doctor) was really nice. He said he had a 50% success rate for labor within 24 hrs. He basically placed very teeny tiny needles in my ankles, inner elbow, and clavicle for about 30 mins. He then came and took them out and placed more in my ankles and wrists. He then came back later and put them in alittle deeper. Then came back later, took them out and was done- it took about 1 hour total time. I had several strong contractions during the procedure, but they have since settled down......we'll see at my appt. tomorrow if they did any good (or maybe I'll pop tonight) ;) Overall, it was a much better experience than I was expecting...... He also marked spots on my ankles and hands for Jake to rub for 5 mins each (acupressure) to get things going ;)

I got a haircut today too- it's very different from what I usually get. Alittle shorter, but I'm liking it alot (of course it's still styled right now.) We'll see if I can get it to look as good on my own and still like it tomorrow ;)

So now I'm really ready for you Annie!!!! You can come out now!!!! ;)

Annie's not ready

Well, I guess Annie didn't get the memo that she was due yesterday...... She's already inherited her late to everything gene from mommy-lol ;) That's OK, hopefully she'll come soon so daddy can get his vacation ;) We plan to finish the office today (which means prob. finish tomorrow.) That'll be nice to get one project out of the way- then just the new fireplace!!! yay!!! Then the yard, bathroom, etc.... lol! Our never ending projects- the joys of owning a home ;) I'm thinking of doing an accupunture treatment to induce labor. I'm going to call tomorrow to get more info in this place I found in Mckinney. The doctor learned acupuncture at the Harvard School of Medicine (I didn't think they even taught that there...) I've never done acupuncture before......should be interesting....

VBAC

VBAC is vaginal birth after cesarean. This delivery will be a VBAC because Maddie was breech and after attemping an ECV (external cephalic version) her heart rate dropped to 50 and she had to be yanked out quickly (3 mins)- the epidural barely had time to take ;) So I was originally told that to avoid uterine rupture I had to have this baby before 40 weeks because that was the rule. Well..... this baby is not cooperating. I then started asking questions:

"Will I be able to have a VBAC for the next child?"
"no, after 2 C-secs you cannot have a vaginal birth"
"How many C-secs are you allowed?"
"3 usually, if you space them out we can squeeze in 1 more but then more than 4 will be very dangerous to you and the baby"

OK, for those of you who don't know, Jake and I practice natural family planning- so spacing out and limiting to 4 kids is a great suggestion, but not a promise I can make. Therefore, this baby HAS TO BE VBAC!!!!

Conclusion: I refused the C-sec scheduled for Monday the 15th, had it rescheduled for Monday the 22nd. The baby will then be 41 weeks and 3 days. Hopefully that will give her time to come, but honestly if she waits longer than I will be forced to refuse the next c-sec as well. If the office kicks me out I may be having a HBAC (home birth after c-sec) hahaha *nervous laugh*

I WILL have my VBAC

Wow, that didn't last long before I got behind- lol! Well, still waiting for Annie to make her appearance...... I had the c-sec rescheduled for the 22nd instead of the 15th to give her more time to come on her own and have a VBAC- I must be crazy ;) Maddie still has no clue what is coming- it's going to be a ride helping her adjust to not being held everywhere we go and I can't drop everything to help her, etc...... but I think she'll do just fine in the end. She loves her doll we gave her and loves trying to feed it, putting it down for naps, etc.... She's a great little helper ;) Well, I guess that's about it for now......
