Favorite Children's Books

Maddie, Annie, and I went to the library for storytime today.  Madelynn had so much fun singing and dancing with the other kids! I know, I know- "but you said storytime?!?"  They read the story about the itsy, bitsy spider; then sang the song with the movements. Same with I'm a little teapot, etc.....you get the idea.  Annie had alot of fun too- she jumped and jumped on my lap while everyone was singing and dancing. I'm so glad Madelynn loves to read! I think that is so very important!  Here are some of my favorite books:

This one is quite the tear-jerker. Especially if you have a little girl.

PS, I'm a huge Max Lucado fan and love that he has wonderful adult and children books and movies and even CDs!
Just In Case You Ever Wonder

 Madelynn loves this book (both before Annie was born, and even more now.) It's a really large board book, so the pictures are large and she can turn the pages easily.  It's really good about helping explain how things will be different with a new baby.

I can't wait to share more books with her as she gets older (and can read larger books.) There are so many good ones out there.....don't get me started on how much I love Anne of Green Gables, Louisa May Alcott, and Janette Oke books!
And of course I can't forget the adventures of Amelia Bedelia and Pippi Longstocking!

    Don't forget for when they get older the "Little House" books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Also, for potty training Once Upon A Potty and Everyone Poops. Savannah loved reading those.

    I always liked "Love you, Forever". It's the cutest book and always makes me get a little teary eyed.

    Those are great suggestions! Emily has just finished reading the Great Illustrated Classic "Anne of Green Gables". I am so excited because now I can watch the movie with her! :) Maybe this weekend...

    She loved the "Little House" books also, but I think only got to "On the Shores of Silver Lake"...I'll have to get her started on those again soon.

    I also gave her the Mandie books for Christmas a couple of years ago and I'm hoping she will start reading those soon, although I believe Mandie is 11 or 12 in those so she has a little while. Nancy Drew was another one of my favorites, but she has a boyfriend so I'm hoping she doesn't start those anytime soon. :)
